These minutes reflect the board’s contempt for the bylaws. They also show that the person making the motion to form an illegitimate committee was Alex Platz an instructor.
Alex Platz, an instructor, made a motion to form a committee to investigate and adjudicate breaches of personal privacy and personal information. The person who seconded this motion, Kevin Zufelt subsequently became the chairmen of said committee.
The illegitimately formed committee eventually meted out punishment to the people who signed the letter to members regarding the clubs tax status. The members are all suspended until the punishment is complete and they cannot participate in the upcoming November elections in any way or in any other club activity. They are not allowed on club grounds accept for completing their sentence. The punishment included the following; Each member must complete volunteer days having been given from three days, up to twelve days.
The member must get permission from the person running the event prior to attending.
If the member displays any negative attitude during the volunteer activity the day will not count towards their punishment.
If they fail to complete the volunteer activities before the final day of renewals for the next year they will not be allowed to renew. All of the above is outside of the club bylaws and in some cases goes against state law.
The “offenders” only other choice is to quit the club and get a refund.
The bylaws do not allow for committees to meet out punishment to members.
